Rising high in the Welsh hills of Plynlimon on the slopes of Bryn Cras, the River Severn, Britain's longest river, begins its 220 mile journey to the sea. As the river drops dramatically, tumbling down through Hafren Forest, look for the moody buzzard. Defiantly standing its ground, perched on the branch of an old tree, watching every move the walker makes. It waits until the last second before gracefully flying off across the valley.
