The gruesome discovery of a severed foot still in a sock and training shoe was made during this past weekend. It was found on the bank of the River Severn at Deerhurst, close to the historic Odda’s Chapel.
Since the discovery was made Police have been trawling this part of the river in a possibility that other parts of the body may be found. As they carry out this task they are keeping an open mind about how it came to be in the river. Helping with the search is a unit from Severn Area Rescue Association (SARA).
Meanwhile the Police are liasing with Police from other areas to seek information about missing people.
The Police have issued a description of the sock and shoe, it is a dark grey sock and a size nine and a half grey and blue skateboard training shoe. Anyone with information that may help them with their enquiries are asked to ring 0845 090 1234 quoting incident number 387 of 21st March.
