Severn Portable Flood Barriers

The Environment Agency decided to erect the first stage of the temporary flood barriers at Upton upon Severn again in response to rising river levels. Once the barriers are erected, they will help protect properties along West Waterside from flooding.

The temporary flood defences at Upton upon Severn in Worcestershire were used in a real flood event for the first time on Friday 8 December 2006.

While the barriers are up, on-street parking will not be permitted in the Water-side, Lower High Street, and Dunns Lane, and people will not be able to walk along the defences.
