This is a popular spot for bore watchers, but can be dangerous, as she was about to find out!
The road is lower than the banks of the Severn at this location and with fresh water flowing down the river the inevitable was about to happen. As the bore passed water surged over the bank flooding the road below.
The lady was trapped in her car and becoming very frightened. The local Fire Service was called out to rescue her, but it was almost an hour before she was brought to safety.
