Carrying Cargo Again

At long last cargo is carried again on the Severn. Sand and gravel is being moved from Ripple, near Upton upon Severn in Worcestershire, and transported in hopper barges to another site 2 miles upriver. Here it is washed and stored before being moved to customers by road.

This new contract was awarded to T.R.Transport Ltd who are moving vast quantities per week in their two motor hopper barges, CHUB and PERCH.

It is believed that the company have recently purchased two Dutch barges for transporting this sand and gravel to both Worcester and Gloucester.
