The long
awaited Gloucester By-Pass is slowly taking shape. For a number of years the
missing section of this road has patiently waited for funding, now the section
from Westgate Bridge across Castlemeads to Llanthony Road is currently nearing
completion.
Much local oppostion is against the form of construction
of this section as they think it will add to Gloucester's flooding problem. The
road is being built on a causeway and the opponents think it should have been
built on stilts.
