Much local oppostion is against the form of construction of this section as they think it will add to Gloucester's flooding problem. The road is being built on a causeway and the opponents think it should have been built on stilts. One vital link is the new bridge crossing the Severn just above Llanthony Weir and was recently placed in postion with the use of heavy lifting equipment.
