Worcester City
Council has given the go ahead to erect a Europeanstyle flood system which will
protect homes and businesses from serious flooding.
The scheme, which will cost in the region of £2,400
to install plus £1,00 per day to maintain during use, will be installed
along Hylton Road.
The barriers are based on the Swedish style pallet system
which comprises of a wall of wooden pallets covered in plastic sheeting. These
can be erected faster than the water rises!
