RSP Home River Severn Tales Chris Witts KEV BRADY SWIMS INTO GLOUCESTERSHIRE

16th October 2015

Kev Brady is determined to swim the length of the River Severn despite many set backs.

The first problem is that it is impossible to swim the length of the Severn due to the terrain at the source, 2,000’ high at Plymlimon in Mid Wales. Kev was forced to walk the first 40 miles from the source to Pool Quay, a hamlet downstream of Welshpool. This was the closest point to the source with enough depth of water to swim in.

Unfortunately this has been an exceptional dry season thus little flow with the current to help Kev with his swim.

Then he picked up a serious stomach bug which laid him low for a couple of days as he swam through Worcestershire.

Not one to give up Kev is determined to keep swimming and hopefully will complete his epic swim at Severn Beach soon.

So far this swim has raised £5,000 for the Superhero Foundation charity.
