IRONBRIDGE RESCUE BOAT VANDALISED


With the riverbank treachorous from icy conditions, rescuers were unable to drive their cars along the side of the river in an attempt to stop a boat from floating away.
Earlier two young men had been spotted untying the ropes of the rescue boat at 3pm from where it was moored on the Severn at Ironbridge. It was a few hours later that the red, white and blue flat bottomed boat was seen floating past the Jackfield rapids by two canoeist. They managed to secure the boat to the bank.
