Narrow Boats

Amongst the collect of narrow boats at the museum is the Northwich. With no engine the narrow boat was towed by a horse then later became a “butty”, towed by a powered narrow boat.
The Northwich carried a variety of cargoes on the canals between London and Birmingham.
